Wanga, Natembeya top list of 25 best performing governors

Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya and his Homabay counterpart Gladys Wanga are basking in glory, after being ranked the best performing.
The two first term county chiefs tied at position one with a performance rating of 70 per cent, as highlighted in research firm Infortrak's 'County Trak' survey conducted between July and September, 2023.
The firm in its report said the sample size was 58,748, with between 619 to 3,400 people from each county being given a chance, depending on the population of a given county.
After Natembeya and Wanga, West Pokot's Simon Kachapin came in third with a 67 per cent performance rating.
Kisii's Paul Simba Arati, Murang'a's Irungu Kang'ata, Turkana's Jeremiah Lomurkai and Makueni county's Mutula Kilonzo Jnr tied at position four with a 64 per cent rating.
Wesley Rotich of Elgeyo Marakwet, Meru's Kawira Mwangaza and Kitui's Julius Malombe closed the top 10 positions with a 63 per cent rating.
Embu's Cecily Mbarire and Narok's Patrick Ole Ntuntu got a 62 percent rating, while Kisumu's Anyang' Nyong'o, Machakos's Wavinya Ndeti, Tharaka Nithi's Muthomi Njoki and Mandera's Mohamed Khalif garnered a 61 per cent rating.
Samburu governor Jonathan Leleliit, Anne Waiguru of Kirinyaga and Nyeri's Mutahi Kagwe tied with a 59 per cent vote, as Bungoma's Ken Lusaka become a lone ranger at 58 per cent.
Mombasa's Abdulswamad Nassir and Kilifi country's are the Coast kingpins with 57 per cent rating. Uasin Gishu's Jonathan Bii, Nairobi's Johnson Sakaja, Vihiga's Wilbur Otichillo and Kakamega county's Fernandes Barasa closed the 25 top ranking slots, with a 56 per cent rating.
Nassir and Mung'aro are the best performing in Coast, Khalif is the best in North Eastern, Mutula Kilonzo Jnr the best in Eastern, Natembeya in Rift Valley, Wanga in Nyanza and Lusaka in Western.
Trans Nzoia and Homabay are the best improved, from positions 41 and 44 respectively in 2020 to position one in 2023.
