Woman Representative cautions public over fraudsters

Tharaka Nithi Woman Representative Ms. Susan Ngugi has cautioned the public over fraudsters who are soliciting for bribes in the name of facilitating their project proposals to be considered for funding by her office.

The Woman Rep disclosed that the unknown impostors have also been asking for money from unemployed teachers promising to connect them to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) for employment.

“These cheats have been tarnishing my name by luring teachers and women groups to give out money in the name of facilitating their employment by TSC and consideration of their written proposals by my office respectively,” said the legislator.

Speaking at St. Paul’s Rukurini Catholic Church and MCK Kamwanthu yesterday, Ms.Ngugi informed the public that the same people will be inviting various schools at Kathwana on Tuesday 4th July 2023 for the launch of the NGAAF bursary kitty yet the event was done a long ago in Maara constituency.

In Mwimbi ward, Ms. Ngugi added that the swindlers will be approaching women groups and asking them to part with money (through posters which they have printed themselves) to be considered by her office

 “My office has always remained transparent through media and other channels about all the activities it undertakes, and let no one be tricked into such shady games,” she added.

The woman rep further attributed the con game to people who do not wish her well for the charity work she is doing, but said they will flop.

Amid the charity work the woman representative has also endeavored to help raise the education standards through the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) Bursary kitty and empowerment of women groups to become economically independent through Uwezo funds. She has also started a Rescue foundation through her own resources.
