You're staring at the face of ICC, Raila told
By Peter Ochieng
Azimio La Umoja One Kenya leader Raila Odinga is staring at the face of the International Criminal Court (ICC), a former police spokesman has warned.
Charles Owino says Odinga may end up at the Hague, Holland based court if he fails to control his supporters.
Odinga and Azimio backers are in the streets for the second day running, agitating for among others, the lowering of the cost of living in what has been termed as peaceful protests.
However, in some instances, the demos have degenerated into lose of lives, injuries, looting, vandalism and destruction of property as rioters clash with police.
Appearing on Citizen TV on Thursday morning, Charles Owino urged Odinga to reign in on his support base now, before it is too late for him.
“If you are calling citizens to go out and demonstrate, you must be able to control them. If Raila cannot control his support base and the country breaks into anarchy and violence he will not escape the Hague,” stated Owino.
He said that the ODM party boss escaped ICC by a whisker, owing to his 'role' in the 2007 post election violence.
“In 2007, our big brother was lucky he never went to the Hague. It is William Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta who went to the Hague and they know what it is."
He said the former Prime Minister should come out and tell his supporters to stop breaking the law during demos, including barricading roads.
