Chelsea to face Liverpool in Premier League season opener

The 2023/2023 English Premier League (EPL) season will kick off on Friday, 11th August, 2023.
According to the fixture released on Thursday morning, newly promoted side Burnley will take on Champions Manchester City in the first game of the season, in what will be student meeting his former teacher.
Burnely is coached by former Manchester City Captain Vincent Kompany who played for the Blues under different managers, among them current coach Pep Guardiola.
On Saturday 12th August, 2023, last season's runners up Arsenal will host Nottingham Forest.
In other matches that very day, Bournemouth will host EUFA Conference League Champions West Ham United, giant killers Brighton will be at home against promoted side Luton Town, while Fulham will be away against Everton.
Sheffield United will be up against Crystal Palace, while Newcastle United will end the day with a home game against Aston Villa.
The Sunday 13th August rosta only has two matches on the cards.
Brentford will host Tottenham, before Chelsea open their campaign against Liverpool.
Both teams underwhelmed last season, having finished out of the top four bracket.
That means Chelsea and Liverpool will be minus Champions League football next season.
However, Liverpool will have the Europa League to fight for, alongside Premier League, FA Cup and Curling Cup titles.
Chelsea will have a new manager in the dugout, in the frame of Argentine Mauricio Pochettino.
Manchester United will end the action packed weekend with a home match against Wolves on Monday, 14th August, 2023.
