The High Court has summoned Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome and Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss Mohammed Amin to appear in court over the disappearance of Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja's aide Osman Khalif Abdi.

The two were ordered to appear in Court on Monday 20th November, 2023 for questioning over Osman's disappearance.

The former South C MCA was reportedly abducted by 5 men who were in possession of firearms, at Sarit Centre mall in Nairobi Westlands on November 10,2023 at around 5PM.

Osman was bundled into a vehicle by the abductors and driven off to an unknown location with his disappearance remaining a mystery for days.

The Court had also ordered telecommunications services provider Safaricom to produce tracking record details of a double - cabin car suspected to have been used by Osman's abductors.

Osman's wife Yasmin Osman moved to court under a certificate of urgency seeking his husband's release which compelled High court Judge Chache Mwita to direct his immediate release.

On Thursday, Judge Mwita directed the Attorney General and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to produce Osman in Milimani law court or any other court on Friday, November 17, 2023 or show cause why he should not be released.

The mall, where the alleged abduction happened or its owners, were also directed to supply the court, and Osman's wife with the CCTV footage.

Osman served as an MCA for South C ward in Kamukunji Constituency between 2017 to 2022 through an ODM ticket but failed to defend his seat in the recently held elections.

The governor of Nairobi Johnson sakaja appointed him as Nairobi County advisor.

Osman's abduction raised tensions amongst his close friends and family with the parliamentary pastoralist group (PPG) chairman Hon major Bashir Abdullahi giving the police IG and the Directorate of criminal investigation 24 hours to come clear the whereabout of Hon osman khalif Abdi.
