Former Kisumu ODM Chairman, Professor Ayiecho Olweny, has defended his stand of ditching the Orange Democratic Movement Party (ODM) for the United Democratic Alliance Party (UDA), that he has not been a member of any party since October 18, 2022.
Olweny asked the Luo community to come to terms that the President of Kenya is Dr. William Ruto, a fact he asked the community to accept and live with.
He pointed out that the Luo community must come to reality and accept to work with the regime in power, including embracing the numerous development initiatives being rolled out by President Ruto in Luo Nyanza, as he praised Information, communication and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary (CS), Eliud Owalo, for embracing a good working relation with the government that will unlock development in the region.
“We must accept that the Luo region can benefit from development goodies from the government through collaborating with the government,” said Olweny.
“The region had their best stab at clinching the presidency, but that passed away and there are no indications of any change in the future and that is the community must work with the government to bolster development and progress for the in the area,” added Olweny.
