Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), Mater Hospital and the county government of Kisii, have applauded concerted efforts made in implementing the Kenya Kwanza government’s policy of provision of medical services to all.
This comes even as the team closed a free medical camp at Nyamache Level 4 sub county hospital to detect diseases from the onset and prevent them before they turn chronic.
Speaking during the two-day free medical camp, KAA chairman, Calleb Koistany advised residents to visit health facilities for early screening of diseases and advice.
Koistany clarified the camps were part of the efforts by the institutions to implement Kenya Kwanza government’s policy on provision of health services to all.
“Some diseases if not diagnosed early prove to be expensive to treat and could become fatal,” he said.
He pledged to mount more camps in the region and commended the cooperation offered by the county government.
Dr. Aggrey Wafula from Mater hospital explained the camp was part of the Catholic Sisters’ commitment to serve vulnerable people in society adding the values including generosity were exhibited in the activity.
Area governor, Simba Arati, announced that plans are underway to upgrade Nyamache sub county hospital to a Level 5 facility.
According to the governor, the trained doctors will be paid instead of working at their private clinics to earn a living.
Arati appealed to the camp’s sponsors to consider holding seven similar activities to benefit other sub counties.
