Gor Mahia Coach: We are focused on delivering 20th title
The 2022/2023 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League title race is headed for an interesting finish.
Defending Champions Tusker FC will play record 19-times Champions Gor Mahia at the Nyayo National Sodium on Sunday, in a potential title decider.
Gor Mahia players and members of the technical bench, know that the Tusker tie is what is probably standing between them and the 20th league title.
The defending Champions lead standings with 64 points, one against Gor Mahia.
Only four games remain before end of the season.
K'Ogallo head coach Johnathan McKinstry says they are focused on winning the 20th title, and that beating the Brewers is non negotiable.
"We are eager to win our next match against Tusker. Losing is unimaginable. Our focus is on delivering the 20th title this season. It would be catastrophic to crash to Tusker on Sunday," he said.
His Tusker counterpart Robert Matano said they are taking each match at a time, adding that they have faith in beating the 'Green Army' enroute to retaining the title.
Last week, Matano's charges beat Ulinzi Stars to qualify for the FKF Mozzart Cup final.
Tusker will face Kakamega Homeboyz in the final.
Gor Mahia's last outing was a 2-1 defeat to AFC Leopards two weeks ago.
