Government announces free entry to National Parks, Museums on Jamhuri Day

In commemorating the 60th anniversary of Kenya's Independence set on Tuesday, 12 December, 2023 , The Government has announced that Kenyan Citizens will be allowed to acess public National Parks and Museums Free of Charge.
A statement by the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife under Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua dated December 8th, 2023 announced that the initiative aligns with the Country's collective pride in being Kenyan and the desire for everyone to relish the gifts bestowed upon the country by nature.
"In commemorating our 60th year of independence, the Government proudly announces free entry for Kenyan citizens to all national parks and museums on Jamhuri Day, December 12, 2023.

Among the places to be accessed will bemarine parks, the Safari walk, and animal orphanages, from 6 am to 6 pm.
The Waiver will require Proof of identification for Kenyan citizens, with children accompanying parents or guardians who possess identification proof.
CS Mutua further extended a call to County Governors overseeing county governments managing national reserves to consider a similar waiver, enabling all Kenyan citizens to revel and enjoy the National Heritage.
