Incestuous father in court

A man who defiled his seven year old girl at Ilasit area, Loitoktok Sub County has been arraigned in court.

Jackson Mutiso appeared before Principal Magistrate Judicaster Nthuku charged that on July 6, last year at Ilasit village, he defiled the girl.

While testifying before the court, the minor had narrated how on the material day at around 4.00 pm while playing outside with her brother her father called her inside the house. 

In the house, the accused took the girl to his matrimonial bed, undressed her before defiling her.

Evaline Mbithe, wife of the accused told the court on the material day, she had left home after disputing with him over money.

Immediately after learning of the defilement, Mbithe contacted a child protection volunteer, Jane Chepkemboi and they proceeded to Ilasit Police station to report the matter.

Meanwhile, the accused went into hiding until July 8, 2022 when he came back home and was arrested and charged with the offence. 

The accused denied the allegations saying he was framed by his wife because they had differed over a women’s group savings money, to which she was a member.

She further said that she suspected him of infidelity since she once found him with another woman.

He also denied going to hiding, saying he had gone to work and had returned home only to be arrested.

The matter was set for mention on June 6, 2023.
