A Kangundo family is now celebrating after finally finding their lost kin in Garissa town, whom they have been searching for the last two years.

Ngina Ndeto was reported missing in April 2022 shortly after she had returned from her matrimonial home in kivani village in Kaiti constituency, Makueni county.

Ngina, who is a mother of four was reported to have mental problems in 2021, where she would vanish and be found, before she disappeared completely from her family until now.

While speaking to the press outside the Garissa police station, the family who could not hide their joy for reuniting with their loved one said that they had been searching for her in major towns and morgues without any trace, but finally got information that she was in Garissa where they found her.

“She has been missing for two years and we have searched for her in Malili, Nairobi, Mombasa until we recently heard in our local radio that she was in Garissa and now we have come, found her and we are taking her home,” said her brother, Charles Katumo.

Kitheka Mwendwa, who is the chairman for the Kamba community association in Garissa urged her siblings to check her into a mental institution, so that she can be stabilized and help her children.
