After Matchweek 6, which saw KCB FC take an early lead, the FKF Premier League standings paint an exciting fight for dominance.

KCB FC has maintained its impressive run at the top of the table with 14 points from 6 matches.

They have secured 4 wins, 2 draws, and remain unbeaten, boasting an impressive goal difference of 9.

That is a formidable form that has seen them score 10 while letting in just one goal, easily making them one of the most balanced sides in this competition so far.

Close on the heels of Police are Kariobangi Sharks and Mara Sugar, both tied at 11 points after 6 matches.

The Kariobangi Sharks lie second, by virtue of a better goal difference, having managed 3 wins, 2 draws, and only 1 loss. They have managed to score 8 goals and have let in 4. Mara Sugar, on the other hand, despite also having 3 wins, 2 draws, and 1 loss, find themselves third-placed due to a lesser goal difference, having scored 7 goals and conceded 3.

The AFC Leopards are one of the most decorated teams in Kenyan football history and lie fourth with 10 points, obtained from 3 wins, 1 draw, and 2 losses.

Performance-wise, they have been a bit inconsistent, but they are within touching distance with the top three-a clear show of their ability to bounce back whenever called upon.

Tusker FC comes closest to making the top five with 9 points from 6 matches and a record of 2 wins, 3 draws, and 1 loss.

Their strong goal-scoring prowess keeps them competitive at 10 goals.

Coming closely after them are Bandari FC, Murang'a Seal, and current reigning champions Gor Mahia, each having secured at least 7 or 8 points, keeping them in the mid-table region.

While current 8th placed Gor Mahia will be seeking to mount some serious challenge in subsequent matches following their slow start into the season.

At the other end of the table, Nairobi City Stars find themselves in deep trouble as they sit at the bottom with a meager 2 points from 5 matches.

Joining them in the relegation zone are Shabana FC, who equally have 2 points but with a game in hand.

Ulinzi Stars, one of the traditionally strong teams in Kenyan football, lie 16th with just 3 points and staring at a possible relegation playoff if things do not look up anytime soon.

The FKF Premier League is setting up to be a dogfight, with KCB FC flexing their muscles as potential champions, while traditional giants such as Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards will be keen to climb the ladder.

With many teams not too far away in terms of points, the coming weeks should be pretty defining for all clubs as they bid to establish positions as the season wears on.

The fans, for now, await yet another matchday when the dynamics might change in this competition, with the consolidation of teams falling further behind.
