As the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party continues to tally votes from the just concluded nomination exercise, there have been shocking results from a number of areas.
While some sitting Members of Parliament and political leaders are celebrating getting a nod from the people, some are still yet to come to terms with the unexpected loss.
We take a look at some of the politicians that have been floored;
Cate Waruguru
The current Laikipia Woman Representative was seeking to fly the UDA ticket for the Laikipia East parliamentary seat.
She was however floored by the current MP Mohammed Amin Deddy. Deddy garnered 12,743 votes against Waruguru's 5,595 votes.
Jayne Kihara
Currently the Naivasha MP, Jayne Kihara lost the UDA nominations to former legislator John Kihagi in a hotly contested race.

Kihara garnered 9,991 votes while Kihagi was named the winner after getting 10,394 votes.
The largest casualties were in Elgeyo Marakwet County where MPs James Murgor (Keiyo North) and Daniel Rono (Keiyo South) lost in the nominations.
Murgor lost to Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen's aide, Adams Kipsanai.
Moses Cheboi
National Assembly Deputy Speaker Moses Cheboi was floored by Sirikwa Member of County Assembly (MCA) Alfred Mutai in the Kuresoi North contest.
In Nandi County, three MPs were defeated, among them
Chesumei MP Wilson Kogo who lost to Eldoret-based businessman Paul Pyego alias Polo.

Aldai MP Cornelly Serem lost the UDA nomination to former Chief of Staff at the Office of Deputy President Marianne Kitany.
A number of current MPs have however been able to clinch the UDA tickets.
They include Kapseret’s Oscar Sudi, Johana Ngeno (Emurua Dikir), and Kuria Kimani of Molo.
Kinuthia Gachobe will be defending the Subukia MP seat after clinching the UDA ticket.
Deputy Governor Wesley Rotich beat former Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinet in the Elgeyo Marakwet gubernatorial UDA nomination contest.
Several constituencies are yet to announce results, and more shocking results are expected to be streaming in.
