Nancy Kigunzu alias "Mathee wa Ngara" will spend five more days in police custody, pending investigations into allegations of drug trafficking.
She was arrested on Monday in Nairobi, before being arraigned in court on Tuesday.
The prosecution sought to have her detained as a probe into her alleged involvement in drug trafficking and handling in Ngara, Nairobi continues.
And on Wednesday, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) court senior principal magistrate Njeri Thuku, ruled that the application by the prosecution which sought to detain "Mathee wa Ngara" for five days was merited.
"Having gone through the submissions by both parties, I find that the prosecution application to detain the respondent is merited. The suspect is to be detained at Muthaiga Police Station for five days to allow police to complete their investigations," stated the magistrate.
She will be back in court on Monday next week, when the matter comes up for mention.
Last week, police officers raided the area alleged to be her bhang selling point and recovered over Sh13 million alongside 26 sacks of bhang.
Her lawyers on Tuesday opposed her continued stay in police custody, claiming she was arrested illegally.
She had gotten a court order stopping the impending arrest.
Led by Danstan Omari, Cliff Ombeta and Sam Nyaberi, they said their client is not a suspect at far as alleged offences are concerned.
"She is facing the wrath of a public campaign as she was not supposed to be arrested. She was arrested outside my office at around 4pm as I was in court. It is not true that she is a flight risk," Omari said.
The magistrate directed that she be escorted to the hospital for medical attention, after her lawyers claimed she had been denied access to medication.
