Max Verstappen wins his third Formula 1 world championships title

Max Verstappen has achieved a remarkable landmark being the 5th driver to win three back to back formula 1 world championships after a impressive victory in Qatar on Saturday.
Verstappen secured the driver's title at the impressive sprint race which is a relatively new format adopted to give fans more excitement in the race before the Qatar Grand Prix on Sunday.
Verstappen who had qualified first on Friday finished second behind McLaren's Oscar Piastri earning him a pole position at Sunday's Qatar Grand Prix
The 26 year old joins an elite club of F1 drivers who have won three championships in a row, alongside Juan Manuel Fangio, Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton.
Verstappen already enjoys a seasonal best having won a historic 10 races in a row an achievement that has not been reached by any other driver before.
Having won 13 of 16 races in 2023 with six more to come, the Dutch driver has the potential to break his own record of 15 race wins in a single season. He’s chasing a record set by Schumacher for highest percentage of victories in a season, who won 72.2% of races in 2004.
With the Qatar GP scheduled for tomorrow, Formula 1 will head into Austin, Texas in two weeks time.
