MP in mourning as wife dies

Changamwe Member of Parliament (MP) Omar Mwinyi is in mourning, following the demise of his wife, Rukiya Khatib.
She reportedly fell ill on Monday night, and was rushed to Pandya hospital in Mombasa, where she died while being attended to.
Rukiya's body was moved to her home in Portreitz, where the family is preparing to lay her to rest after the 1.000pm prayer, according to the Islamic religion.
Omar Mwinyi, a member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party is serving his third term as MP, having been first elected in 2013.
The Raila Odinga led party shared a message of condolence.
"We commiserate with you and your family at this very difficult moment of grief and pray to Allah SWT to grant you peace during this trying times.”
Fellow leaders and the MPs supporters have taken to social media to share their messages of condolence.
