Orengo is a one term governor, Gem MP avers

 Gem Member of Parliament, Elisha Odhiambo is accusing top Orange Democratic Movement leadership of doublespeak over the need to respect the independence of the judiciary.

According to Odhiambo, the top ODM brass should be the last to lecture President William Ruto on the need to respect court rulings while they themselves have been disobeying the same rulings with impunity.

The legislator at the same time accused Siaya Governor, James Orengo of misleading Azimio la Umoja- One leader Raila Odinga to disrespect a recent court ruling stopping the coronation of Mr. Odungi Randa as the chairman of the Luo Council of Elders.

Odhiambo said Orengo will be a one term governor and will not be re-elected for the second term allegedly due to his poor leadership and development record.

He was speaking on Friday at Mutumbu in North Gem location during the burial of his late grandmother, Paulina Opondo who died at 105 years.

“Orengo is a double dealer. He recently called on the President to respect the Judiciary. Fair enough, Judiciary is independent and requires respect,” he said adding “but you do not call on the President to respect the Judiciary when you have misled Raila to disobey court orders,” he said.

Former Rarieda MP, Nicholas Gumbo who also attended the funeral called on the local residents to respect the rights of individuals to associate.

Gumbo urged the residents to be wary of leaders who misuse voters for their selfish gains, adding that the electorate should reject such people in future.
