Police probing burglary at Nyayo Girls School, Mukaa

Police in Makueni County have launched investigations into an incident where six suspects stole assorted items from Nyayo Girls Secondary School, Mukaa Sub-county.
The suspects, armed with crude weapons stormed the school, early Friday and tied security guards and a cook, before breaking into the Principal’s office.
They stole a safe box that had two log books of the school bus registration No. KBA 270E and a Lorry registration No. KAD 633R.
The criminals also made away with Sh136,000, five cheque books, television set (55 Inches), a laptop Hewlett Packard (HP) and a smart phone (Itel).
The County Police Commander, Alice Kimeli, said the incident was reported by the school Principal, Lilian Muema, adding that police have already commenced investigations.
However, Kimeli said a crowbar, an Itel Smart phone and a wheelbarrow, presumably used to ferry the stolen items was recovered at the scene.
“Though, so far no arrests have been made,” she added.
Nobody was injured during the 2am incident.
