President Ruto confirms readiness for upcoming National Examinations

President William Ruto has confirmed all arrangements for the forthcoming national examinations for Form Four and Grade Six students are done.

The exams, to start next week, will be strictly policed to ensure they are well conducted.

"The preparations for Form Four and Grade Six examinations are complete ahead of next week when the national assessment exercise begins. All the materials needed are ready while the appointment of supervisors and invigilators has been finalized," Ruto said.

Briefed on the arrangements by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba and his team, Ruto emphasized that ensuring the security and integrity of the exams remains paramount.

It has further emerged that the Ministries of Education and Interior have been ordered to take necessary steps to ensure that cheating and any form of malpractice are prevented.

"The ministries of Education and Interior have been directed to ensure that the security and integrity of the examinations is not compromised," Ruto added.

The KCSE exams will start from October 22 and run until November 22, 2024.

Rehearsals are set to occur on October 18, with practical exams already underway for papers such as Agriculture, Computer Studies, and Art.

The final papers will be closed with subjects such as Physics and Business Studies.

Assessment for the Kenya Primary School Education, KPSEA for Grade Six students will start on October 25 and end on October 30.

The Competency-Based Curriculum system will be assessed in essential subjects including Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Integrated Science, among others.

The government, through the Kenya National Examination Council, keenly eyes total absence of examination security breaches or ethical standards cases as witnessed in its recent drive to curb malpractices in the national assessment system.
