President Ruto officially opens the 2023 Nairobi ASK International trade fair

President William Ruto has officially opened the doors for the 2023 Nairobi Agricultural society of Kenya (ASK) International trade Fair on Wednesday at the ASK jamhuri show grounds in Nairobi.
Ruto was in company of Nairobi County Governor Johnstone Sakaja, Cabinet Secretaries Aden Duale (Defence) and Simon Chelugui (Cooperatives and Micro and Small Enterprise), Attorney General Justin Muturi, Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu among other guests.
"At the heart of our Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda is the scaling up of climate-smart agriculture that promises to boost food production and build resilience to climate change risks posed to farmers."Ruto said in a tweet.
" The strengthening of climate-smart technologies, research, inputs, market and extension services will further this cause and enable farmers earn more, thereby increasing wealth in our country. "Ruto added.
The show will be gracing thousands of visitors who will get a chance to sample and view a variety of Agricultural products displayed in the exhibition.
The organisers of the event have also announced that the agricultural and business forum has attracted over 350 exhibitors, both local and international.
The show which started on September 25 will be running to October 1, 2023, with this year’s theme being “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth”.
The event aims to bring together all industry players in the agricultural and trade sector, including manufacturing, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), while providing platforms for innovative solutions, modern technologies aimed at spurring agriculture, financial and advertising services, as well as live demonstrations.
The show will also offer a forum for farmers to ask questions to agricultural experts, enabling the sharing of information, marketing, and networking with players in the agriculture and business sectors.
In addition, the seven-day exhibition will provide free farmer training, workshops, and livestock parades.
The showground has offered over 2, 000 exhibition spaces also opening doors for young farmers through the 4k club school's programme which was revived by former president Uhuru Kenyataa in 2021.
Adults will pay 300sh Entry fees with children being charged at 250sh with adult groups charged at 250 per adult and children groups at 200sh per child.
