President William Ruto yet again met the 5 outcasted ODM MPs at State House Nairobi today.
The 5 including Langata MP Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o, Mark Nyamita of GEM Constituency , Caroli Omondi of Suba South, Gideon Ochanda of Bondo, Paul Abuor and Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda.
Principal Secretary for Interior and National Administration Dr. Raymond Omollo was also in attendance. In pictures circulating online, the leaders we're seen sitting while chatting and laughing.
Details of their meeting are yet unclear but speculations see this to be an extended courtship by the head of state inviting them to his UDA Court.
This comes after on Friday last week, the ODM party National Executive Committee Meeting led by Party leader Raila Odinga expelled the said rebels from the party over what it called violation of the party constitution, Disobeying the party laws and unlawful Association with the head of state which the Party has up to now failed to recognize his presidency as legitimate.
Raila Odinga during a public rally in Migori this week termed the MPs as traitors. He defended the party’s move to show them the door claiming that politics is based on Loyalty and respect and the act of the 5 Association with the president on the back door was treacherous and betrayal.
The president's meeting with the five comes a day after the Political parties dispute Tribunal reprieved the expulsion of the five from the ODM party until the grounds for their expulsion was adequately looked into.
Jalang'o, Nyamita and Ojienda had appealed to the expulsion while further issuing motions to reject their expulsions.
