President William Ruto was hosted bt Indian Prime minister Narendra Modi and the Country's president Droupadi Murmu during his official visit to the country on Tuesday at New Delhi. 

Ruto who landed in India yesterday for a two day visit was also accorded a guard of Honor by the country's military. 

President Ruto said that the two countries will collaborate in advocating for equitable global financial system that equally favors the Global South. 

"Kenya and India will expand partnership in technology along other sectors. We will benefit tremendously from India’s capacity and experience as a global leader in technology. 

The two countries will also work together to effect change in the world financial system to ensure the Global South can access the resources it needs to develop and transform the lives of people at a fair and just cost." Ruto said in a statement on X. 

Earlier, the head of state had held Bilateral talks with the Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar before meeting The President and Chief Executive Officer of Procorp Enertech Private Limited, Srinivasa Raju Gannavarapu to explored investment opportunities in the Lake Region Economic Bloc.

The President said the two countries are keen on enhancing trade, investment, education, digital economy, healthcare, research and agriculture among others areas of cooperation for the benefit of its peoples.

The President discussed the establishment of India Exim Bank’s regional headquarters in Kenya with its Managing Director Harsha Bangari.

He observed that such investments are key to the country’s socio-economic growth.

“Kenya continues to attract international investors from all parts of the world as part of the Bottom-Up Transformation Agenda,” he said.

President Ruto also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Open University of Kenya and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).

The MOU seeks to diversify Kenya’s programmes and enhance its technological infrastructure.

President Ruto was in company of Governors James Orengo (Siaya), Stephen Sang (Nandi) and Hillary Barchok (Bomet).
