Raila Flags off Medical consignment for Mombasa health facilities

Azimo la Umoja leader Raila Odinga has Flagged off a consignment of medicines being delivered to all the Mombasa County health facilities at an event in Port Reitz Hospital in Changamwe on Monday. 

The medicines worth 50 million shillings are to be delivered to the 47 medical facilities in Mombasa County. 

Raila termed this as the essence of devolution where such services get to people on the ground. He further mentioned that Baba care which was one of thr Agenda in his manifesto during the campaign period remains an Azimio flagship project. 

BabaCare was a project to promote acess to affordable and quality health services to all including the less fortunate. 

"This is the essence of devolution, taking services in this instance, health care, down to the people on the ground. #BabaCare remains an Azimio flagship project." Raila said in a statement on Facebook.

Raila was in company of Mombasa County governor Abdulswamad Nassir Shariff who stated that the medicines will support the Country's Healthcare initiative that targets 16,000 families within various Sub-counties. 

" These medicines will go a long way in supporting our MombasaCare initiative that has made medical care a reality for 16,000 families (approximately 80,000 individuals) living in various sub-counties." Nassir said.

Raila further insisted that the Government should be keen on delivering its promises to the people rather than prioritizing on tours that have little impact to the common man.
