Richie Spice to perform in Kisumu
Kisumu City are you ready?
Well, Jamaican Reggae artist Richell Bonner, popularly known as Richie Spice will be in the Lakeside City for a concert later this month.
The Reggae sensation will perform at the Mamboleo Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Show grounds on 28th May, 2023.
Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o via his social media pages, confirmed Richie Spice's upcoming concert.
"It's coming home! Get ready for May 28th for a mega live performance by RICHIE SPICE at the Mamboleo ASK Grounds," said the second term County boss.
Concert organisers are the Kisumu County government and Ziva Empire.
The Gideon Boot hitmaker will be in Kisumu, a day after headlinimg the Good Vibes Festival on 27th May, 2023 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), in Nairobi.
From reactions on the governor's post on social media, Spice's fans in Kisumu are eagerly looking foward to the event.
Leslie Okura wrote: "I need a gideon boot and a khaki suit.....mi stand out in babylon to defend de trut'.......I let de people know right from wrong..."
Jeff Jeif said, "If there is one governor that has supported youths talent especially in the entertainment industry then it is you. Kudos!I hope other governors can emulate you. Stadias lie idle un utilized. They should allow the youths to use them freely to eke a living through entertainment or sports. Nothing slurps like reggae kwa stadium."
However, others termed the planning of the concert a misplaced priority.
Musa LePadre Psalmist opined, "Misplaced priority. We need God more not reggae Mr Governor."
Richie Spice has twice performed in Kenya, during the Dobba Festival in 2017 and No one van stop reggae concert in 2019.
