Ruto's new directive to national government administration officers

President William Ruto on Monday issued a new directive to National Government Administration Officers (NGAO).

Ruto demanded that they henceforth take charge of security within their areas of jurisdiction.

According to a dispatch from State House, officers abetting crime in their areas of operation will be held responsible.

Speaking at the Eldoret State Lodge in Uasin Gishu county during a meeting with regional commissioners, Ruto similarly warned those engaging in corruption, and other criminal activities, stating that they risk being prosecuted.

“There are people who are allowing criminals to acquire government documents such as passports and identity cards. Trust you me, they will be arrested and prosecuted.”

“I have made that commitment to them and I will keep that promise,” he added.

He insisted that his administration will not seek external funding to fund government programs and projects.

“That is why I will not allow any public money to be stolen or misused.”

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki and his Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo were also in attendance.

Gachagua urged the officers to adhere to their professional code of conduct.
