Shock as grandson stabs 96year old granny to death

A somber mood engulfed Kisoko village in Nambale Sub County after a 25- year- old teacher said to be mentally sick stabbed his 96-year-old grandmother to death.
According to an eye witness Florence Nabwire, Benard Okwara, a teacher at Nanderema Secondary school in Samia Sub County cut his grandmother Clare Nabwire Oruko on the neck while she was in the kitchen.
Nabwire added that through the help of neighbors, they managed to arrest and tie him to a tree before calling police officers from Nambale police station.
She claimed Okwara was suffering from a mental illness and has been receiving treatment in one of the hospitals in Kakamega County.
The body of the deceased was moved to Busia County Referral Hospital awaiting postmortem.
