Spain wins 20KM Women's Race Walk, Kenya finished 18th

Emily Wamusyi Ngii, the Kenyan champion from the All-African Games, secured the 18th position in the Women's 20 Kilometres Race Walk final at the 2023 Budapest Athletics World Championships in Hungary, held on Sunday.
Ngii clocked a time of 1:31:01, trailing six minutes and a few seconds behind the Spanish victor, Maria Perez, who finished the race in 1:26:5.
Kenya was unable to clinch the title, which was won by Spain in a dominant performance.
Spain also reigned supreme in the Men's 20Km Walk Race, with Alvaro Martin claiming the first gold medal of this year's World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
Perez's victory marked the first gold medal in the 20KM Women's Race Walk at the Budapest World Championships.
Jemima Montag of Australia, who completed the race in 1:27:16, secured the silver medal after finishing second.
Montag, a two-time Commonwealth Games champion and World Championship Silver medallist, added another feather to her cap with this achievement.
The first bronze medal of the Budapest competition was claimed by Antonella Palmisano from Italy.
Palmisano, an Olympic champion and two-time World Championships Bronze medallist, added to her impressive record with this latest accomplishment.
