Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has apologised to ODM leader Raila Odinga and his entourage over violence that was meted against them while they were leaving the funeral of late businessman Jackson Kibor in Uasin Gishu county on Friday.
Speaking on Saturday during a funeral in Kapseret, Sudi condemned the incident and called for tolerance during this political season.
He offered to mobilise and attend Odinga’s future rallies in Uasin Gishu, adding that even though they are on different political formations, it does not hurt to attend a rival’s rally.
"Members of the Kalenjin community are not known for that brand of politics. I want to state categorically that the mistake is already done and that we apologize to Mzee Raila Odinga and his entourage. We are aware that there are youths who have been arrested in connection to the chaos and that is the right direction towards ending political violence.
"I want to tell Raila that he can come back to Eldoret and if he wishes I could help him in mobilizing crowds to his rally. We will attend his rally and listen to his policies," he was quoted by People Daily.
