Vihiga County Government to tarmac strategic roads

Vihiga county government intends to upgrade strategic roads to bitumen standard to save the cost on routine maintenance.
Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo has said they are going to identify economically strategic roads in the five sub counties for tarmacking so as to open up the county for commercial activities.
Dr. Ottichilo pointed out that dry weather roads have been an impediment to the economic growth since some of them become impassable during heavy rains.
The county head said this while on an inspection tour of the ongoing grading of roads in Sabatia and Hamisi sub counties.
He inspected the progress of the works on Selewa-Galoni road in West Sabatia location, in Sabatia sub county.
The governor, who was accompanied by the County Executive Committee Member (CECM)for transport and infrastructure Joseph Lunani, said the improvement of the roads network is among the priority programmes for his administration.
The tour that started Friday last week where they covered Vihiga, Emuhaya and Luanda sub counties witnessing the works on Chandolo-Vigeste road in Mungoma location, Mali ya Mungu-Esalwa church of God in West Bunyore and Centre-Jeshi la Wokovu -Esibembe-Embumwe in Luanda South respectively.
