Azimio to hold demos for three consecutive days
By Peter Ochieng
Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition on Friday announced demos for three consecutive days next week, in order to 'force president William Ruto into submission.'
Azimio leaders are calling for among others, the lowering of the cost of living.
On Thursday, Azimio leader Raila Odinga declared that they would be back on the streets on Wednesday next week, but that has since changed.
The protests will now be held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week, across the country.
Azimio leadership in a statement said the decision was taken on the backdrop of overwhelming request from Kenyans from all sectors, on the need to intensify the anti-government demos.
"Going foward, the peaceful protests will now be held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week in line with requests from the public to include three days of activity," reads the statement in part.
It however seems Azimio leaders had long settled on three days of protests, before Odinga declared the they would be back on the streets on Wednesday.
Appearing on Citizen TV's morning show on Thursday, Edwin Sifuna, ODM Secretary General said they would demonstrate for three consecutive days next week.
He said the demos would be on, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, before the calender was reviewed to run from Wednesday to Friday.
