By Edith O. Virginia Musical artist Kelvin Kioko popularly known by his stage name Bahati cries publicly during a live press conference while laying allegations that he has been denied the Jubilee party ticket to run for the Mathare Parliamentary seat during the August elections. Bahati shed tears while sending a message to both President Uhuru Kenyatta and the right honourable Raila Odinga to come in between and address the matter. According to Bahati, he says Azimio la Umoja decided to rally behind the current mp of Mathare Tom Oluchi of ODM. Bahati urged Raila and Uhuru to give the people of Mathare a chance to elect a leader of their choice. He also spoke on behalf of youth leaders urging both the president and Azimio flag bearer to give the youth of the country a chance. Bahati spoke all this while holding his nominations certificate in his hands. [caption id="attachment_18231" align="alignnone" width="960"] File Image of Singer Bahati holding a Jubilee certificate. Bahati was handed a direct nomination ticket via Jubilee party to.which he took to social media to celebrate the win. “I don't know how to celebrate this... I don't know if I should cry or pray... This is a dream come true not only to me as Bahati but to the youth & my people of Mathare who for so long have been praying for an MP made in Mathare...I would like to say thank you for choosing me as the most popular candidate in Mathare!" Bahati joined Jubilee earlier this year on March 18 in a bid to foster his political ambitions.
