Business and normal activities have resumed in Wote town today on the third day of Azimio protests.
A spot check by KNA shows that business is going on well at Marikiti Market, Main market and town streets.
Also there is police presence at the strategic places in town. The town that had experienced Azimio anti-government demonstration on Wednesday and Thursday has minimal activities at town.
A vegetable vendor Elizabeth Kioko is happy that calm has been restored in town.
“I am happy now that calm has been restored in our town, now we can do business freely,” said Kioko.
“For the last two days I have not sold anything, part of my tomato stock got spoiled,” noted Kioko.
Kioko added that she can now pay her Chama and other daily expenses from today’s sales.
“I expect to contribute to merry go round group fee and buy household goods from today’s sales profits,” she added.
Kioko appealed to the youths to restrain from demonstration and violence warning that riots will ruin their lives.
“Please our youths use your energy well in your studies or daily hustles don’t allow yourself to be bought by politicians to demonstrate,” added Kioko.
On his part, Martin Wambua, a boda boda rider has lauded the government for restoring peace in the area.
Wambua called upon the youths to keep peace all the time saying demonstration that was witnessed in Wote ruined the business.
“I had to remain in the house on Wednesday and Thursday morning because there was no job, people were few in town,” he added.
