Chelsea head coach addresses sack rumours

By Peter Ochieng

English Premier League (EPL) side Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly living his last days as the Blues manager.

The Argentine tactician may be sacked in the coming days, if results do not improve at the Starmford Bridge.

The under-pressure Blues boss insists he doesn't fear for his job, amid poor run of form despite massive investments in the playing unit in recent months.

The Blues have won just five Premier League games this season, drawing four and losing seven, and currently lie 12th in the premier league table.

Chelsea play host to Sheffield United later today, with nothing but a win expected from Pochettino's side.

Speaking ahead of his side's clash with Sheffield United, the former Espanyol, Tottenham and PSG head coach said he has the backing of Blues' top hierarchy, despite a string of poor results.

He said he is trusting Chelsea's top leadership, until 'the end.'

"I am a person that always trusts and trusts until someone shows me I cannot trust any more. But I trust, I trust. Of course, I know that I need to deliver. I know football, how football is."

"My decision to sign here was because I trust when they offered me the job. I am going to keep trusting because the club is showing me that they trust in my job," he said, as quoted by Goal.

According to the Chelsea boss, a lot is happening behind the scenes to make the team better.

"We have good people building the house, good architects. We have the best company, architects, very creative and good - already proven."

The 51-year-old tactician was appointed Chelsea head coach in May, replacing legend Frank Lampard.

Lampard had taken over on an interim basis from Graham Potter who faced the sack in April, 2023.
