Family of Lawrence Warunge claims he plans to kill more

By Judy Jerono The family of Lawrence Warunge Njoroge, who is linked to the killing of his four family members and a worker at Karura village, Kiambaa in Kiambu county on January 6, 2021, has appealed to the court not to release the accused on bail. The family informed the court in writing that Warunge is intending to kill the rest of his family adding that while in remand, the culprit has been threatening his remaining family with death. They said that during Warunge’s arrest, he confessed to have been planning to kill his two other sisters who at the time of the incident were in school. The family informed the court through their lawyer Ndindi & Nadida Advocates. This is due to the following reasons: The accused, during his arrest, expressed that he had every intention to kill his remaining two sisters and other members of the family as well” the court was told This comes after the 22-year-old, a student at Mount Kenya University through his lawyer Ntenga Marube moved to Kiambu High Court seeking to be released on bond. ''I spoke to my client and he wishes to apply for bond. We seek a pre-bail report,’’Mr Marube said Mr. Warunge is facing charges of brutally killing his father Nicholas Njoroge Warunge, his mother Ann Wanjiku, his brother Christian Njenga Njoroge, their adopted nephew Maxwell Njenga, and a farmhand. Before the incident took place, the accused had told the girlfriend that there was something he wanted to do that would make them live in peace, for the rest of their lives. Warunge confessed to have watched movies and also practiced how to camouflage, and commit the horrendous act without being noticed. An investigations revealed shocking revelations how the gruesome massacre, which aborted three times with the second last planned for January 2, was planned and accomplished. The suspect had alleged that he felt neglected by the parents, and that his younger siblings were also siding with the parents.
