First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto received a consignment of food donation and water tanks at State House Nairobi on Saturday morning.

Consignment included food donation of 100,000 kilograms of maize meal and 100 water tanks of 3,000 litres each from the Chinese Property Developer Association Kenya led by its Chairman Zhang Jiaping.

The food donation will support the Mama Feeding programme, which aims to ensure the retention of thousands of school children, especially from informal settlements, while the tanks will enable women to harvest water during the rainy season.

"We appreciate the solidarity and cooperation of the Chinese Property Developer Association of Kenya." Mama Feeding programme said in a statement on Facebook.
