A young man was Thursday evening stabbed to death by unknown people in Ringa trading centre Homa Bay County.
The victim, Levi Ochieng, 22, was manning his father’s butchery but left abruptly in the company of another man whom neighbouring traders could not identify.
But witnesses say that at some point, Ochieng was seen talking to somebody on a phone for quite long after which he left.
The incident took place at Kojwach location with the area chief Caroline Anyango saying the report received showed the young man had left his father’s butchery at 7 pm but did not get back.
She said the body had a visible stab wound on the neck.
The chief asked the residents to remain calm as the police carried out investigations on the murder saying already, three suspects have been apprehended and were helping with the probe.
Chief Anyango said police have moved the body from the scene of the crime, not very far from Ringa Trading Centre, to Rachuonyo South Sub County Hospital mortuary as the investigation continued.
The young man’s father George Ochieng has called on the police to speed up the investigation and arrest the perpetrators responsible for his son’s death.
