Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has suspended two players over match fixing allegations.
The two are former Nairobi City Stars players, in the making of striker Ezekiel Odera and Salim Abdalla.
Odera and Abdalla were allegedly reported to the federation by Nairobi City Stars leadership, in a bid to protect the integrity of the game.
Their contracts with the Nairobi based club ended at the end of last month.
The two allegedly tried to manipulate FKF premier league matches against Kariobangi Sharks, Tusker FC and Kakamega Homeboyz, during the just concluded 2022/2023 premier league season.
FKF in a statement on Tuesday said investigation into the matter is ongoing.
"During this period of suspension, all FKF members are advised to avoid any form of sporting contact with the aforementioned individuals. FKF remains fully committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity within the sport and will take appropriate action based on the findings of the investigation."
The Federation urges all its stakeholders, including players, officials, and fans, to continue supporting its efforts in ensuring the integrity of Kenyan football," added the press statement.
The federation promised to issue further updates regarding the investigation and any subsequent actions.
