Government assures of equal sharing of national cake

The government is committed to developing all regions in the country equally, to ensure that every Kenyan get benefit and participate actively in national development, Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei, has said.
Koskei noted that this is the wish of President Dr. William Ruto, who has issued stern instructions to all public service officers, that not area should be left behind in matters of development.
He was speaking, yesterday, at Ndara Anglican Church in East Asembo Location, Rarieda Sub- county, where he led a team of senior government officials, among them the Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Information, Communications and The Digital Economy, Eliud Owalo and Interior and National Administration Principal Secretary (PS), Dr. Raymond Omollo, in a funds drive in aid of the Church.
The Head of Public Service said part of the signs of the President’s commitment in ensuring that Nyanza gets its fair share of development, was his recent tour of the region, where commissioned a number of development projects and even chaired a cabinet meeting held at the Kisumu State Lodge.
He urged the local residents to support the government in its endeavor, adding, “Do not run away from the government when it comes to you, welcome it.”
Addressing the same occasion, Owalo hailed the President Ruto’ Administration, saying that it had shown by deeds that it was truly concerned about the plight of the residents in Nyanza region.
Owalo urged Nyanza residents to ensure a peaceful co-existence so as to attract investments and spur development of the region.
“Once in a while we may have different opinions, but we must have proper mechanism of sorting out these differences when they arise, without necessarily engaging in violent demonstrations, including burning of vehicles, business premises or roads,” stressed the CS.
Owalo said that plans were underway to rehabilitate the Asembo Bay pier and construct a fish landing facility in the area, so as to open up the region for blue economy activities.
On his part, the Interior PS urged Siaya residents to support the President’s initiative of ensuring that the country plants nine billion trees in the next decade.
Dr. Omollo further hailed the President for his recent visit to Nyanza, adding that the residents were happy and were expecting more of such meet the people interactions, to further cement national cohesion and assurance of the regions share and participation national development.
