Government Spokesperson job advertised: How to apply

Do you posses the requisite qualifications to occupy the position of government spokesperson?

Well, the government is looking for you.

The Public Service Commission (PCS) has advertised for the position.

The succesful candidate will replace Cyrus Oguna, who served under retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Oguna left after the August, 2022 general elections.

He is currently serving as Siaya County government Chief of Staff.

According to the PSC advert, interested candidates must be degree holders in Education, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications and Media Studies, Linguistics, Political Science and Social Sciences.

Applicants must demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the national development goals, policies and objectives, including the government's transformation agenda.

One must be fluent in both spoken and written Swahili and English.

He/she must have served for a minimum period of ten (10) years as a media or communication practitioner, three (3) of which should have been in the grade of Deputy Director, CSG 6/Job Group 'R' and above or in comparable and relevant.

The successful candidate will be expected to communicate government policies, programmes, and initiatives to the public through media channels.

Applications are done online, through PSC's website - www.publicservice.go.ke or the jobs portal - www.psckjobs.go.ke before or on June 5, 2023, at 5 pm.

The appointee will earn between Sh292,765 to Sh576,120 per month as basic salary, with Sh400,000 in allowances.
