Government Textbooks abandoned on roadside in Elgeyo Marakwet County

Police in Keiyo South, Elgeyo Marakwet County led by DCI have opened investigations looking to establish reasons under with over 500 boxes of Government text books for a Junior Secondary School were abandoned along Kaptagat Kaptarakwa marum Road inside Kaptagat Forest today January 20, 2024

The Textbooks belonged to to Nyamira North and Nyamira South Sub counties. 

According to Preliminary investigations, the motor vehicle carrying the books might have been hijacked and hijackers offloaded the books and left with the motor vehicle.

"Preliminary investigation indicates that the motor vehicle carrying the books might have been hijacked and hijackers offloaded the books and left with the motor vehicle," police noted.

The matter remains under investigation.
