Investigations Launched into the death of man in mbita

Investigations are ongoing to unravel the circumstances under which a 36-year-old man was allegedly killed by his brother in Mbita, HomaBay county.

The Assistant Chief for God Jope location Fredrick Odero said preliminary investigations reveal that the deceased and his brother fought over a piece of land.

He said the deceased identified as Erick Ooko died on the spot after he was allegedly hacked with a machete by his brother.

According to neighbours, the two brothers had a history of disputes.

"I was informed about the incident and that their disputes had degenerated into a fatal altercation." said the administrator.

He said the suspect had accused the deceased of grazing his animals in a section that he was not supposed to.

"The suspect who was holding a machete hit him once killing him instantly," Mr Odero said.

Homa Bay County Police Commander Samson Kinne said investigations were ongoing.
