Murang’a South Deputy County Registrar of Persons Susan Mutembei has urged the students who had applied for their identification cards during the December holidays to collect them during these two weeks of school break.
She noted that in January this year during the long holiday, her office received over two thousand applications for new identification cards.
Mutembei also noted that with the schools closed for the April holidays, they are experiencing large numbers of applicants which is very encouraging.
She further encouraged all the persons that were born from April 2005 downwards to apply for the identification document as they have now attained the legal age of 18 years.
“Those who were born from April 2005 downwards are now legally 18 years of age and I encourage them to come and apply for their identification cards,” she said.
On Monday a spot check by KNA revealed that the registrar’s office was buzzing with activity as many applicants thronged the premises to apply for the identification document.
