Mustafa meets CS Namwamba after viral 'mjengo' video
Legendary rapper Colonel Mustafa is smiling again.
Weeks ago, the musician was the 'talk of town' when his video taken while doing 'odd work' at a construction site went viral.
The musician said he was forced into 'mjengo' work after his music fortunes dwindled.
He said he had to fend for his sick mother. She is battling cancer.
However, Mustafa's fortunes are expected to change in the coming weeks or perhaps months, after meeting Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Sports and Youths Affairs Ababu Namwamba.
The CS said the singer must rise again.
"Very special time spent with legendary Kenyan artist Colonel Mustafa who I invited to my office. The Legend must rise again, like the Phoenix," wrote the CS in a statement.
The singer confirmed meeting the CS, indicating that their engagement centred on having a fresh start.
"I met the great Waziri Ababu Namwamba. We discussed many aspects on how we can bring life to our Kenyan creative industry. Lots and lots of encouragement and words of wisdom from Waziri Ababu and Ps Ismail," he said.
The artist rose to fame in the last decade, with hit songs such as Kenyan Girl, Mtaani dot com, Lenga Stress and Loboko featuring Mejja enjoying massive airplay.
