Joseph Kasale is the new chairperson of the Narok Chapter, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI).

This is following an election that members described as peaceful, fair and transparent that was held at the Narok North Youth Empowerment Hall.

Hundreds of members who participated in the elections also elected James Salaash to deputize the chairman while Regan ole Baari, Ms. Violet Naasisho, Lemeria Riuka, James Nguyagwe, Ms. Elizabeth Kirua, Ms. Caroline Matanda, Nicodemus Lukeine, Pesia Kuluo and Sammy Kiok were elected members of the board.

KNCCI Internal Election Board (IEB) member Benjamin Onkoba, who was in charge of the elections said that the nomination process was fair and transparent.

“The new board members were elected through nominations process from the chambers to replace the already existing board members whose term has ended” Onkoba said.

Chief Officer in charge of trade in Narok county Francis Kudate thanked the chambers for the peaceful nomination process and appointment of a new team of directors.

Kudate congratulated the newly elected team and assured full support from the county government through the department of trade.

The outgoing chairman David Mpatiany in his closing remarks, called upon the newly elected members to steer up the unity of trades and to invest more into businesses so as to ensure that the county will prosper as other counties.

Mpatiany has placed his bid to vie for regional chair position and asked the delegates to drum up support for his regional bid as the chairperson.

Coastal Region KNCCI Chairman Hassan Wario echoed Mpatiany sentiments and encouraged the trades from the pastoral community to come together and support the outgoing chairman to secure the Regional Chapter Chairperson position.

Wario challenged the newly elected team to put efforts to ensure that the traders receive services they want and encouraged them to invest in fields like agriculture, horticultures and other sectors.

The newly elected chairman was handed the appointment certificate and the official results were then sent to headquarters offices in Nairobi.
