Azimio leader Raila Odinga has apologized to journalist after the incident that saw goons interrupt the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation event. The event was organized by Azimio leaders.
Raila in his statement on Thursday morning assured journalists and leaders who were present during the sad incident that his party will take action against the perpetrators.
"Mr. Raila Odinga regrets the events of yesterday (Wednesday) and takes this opportunity early to apologize to the journalists and fellow leaders who were caught up in the sad incident."
"Mr. Odinga assures the journalists and his fellow leaders that the coalition will investigate the incidents and close the loopholes that caused the breach of security with the intention of ensuring that journalists and leaders are safe and free in all the activities of the Azimio, including those of the public meeting," his spokesperson Dennis Onyango said.
Young people full of passion disrupted the meeting that was going to be held between Azimio leaders and journalists on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka was addressing the media when youths, more than 50, invaded the tent claiming that they will not allow any leader to dishonor Raila.
"No one disrespects Raila while we are alive, there is no meeting with the media here," the young men shouted as they turned their chairs upside down.
