Narok County Government in collaboration with Maasai Mara Rotary Club will conduct a five-day free surgical camp in Narok County so as to give hope to the vulnerable people in the society.
The club’s President-elect Catherine Mutula said the free surgical camp will be conducted at the Narok County Referral Hospital between September 27 and October 1 by experts from Kenyatta National Hospital.
Ms Mutua underscored their aim is to give hope to the vulnerable people who highly need the surgeries but their families could not afford the medical expenses.
She spoke at Oloolaimutia Primary school after leading the members of her club in planting tree seedlings at the school compound.
“Rotary is about giving hope to the vulnerable people in the society. The medical camp is expected to bring back lost hope to the patients and their families,” she reiterated, adding that residents will also receive free medical check-ups and treatment.
The Rotary club also targets to plant thousands of trees in various primary schools at the end of the five-day free surgical camp so as to mitigate the effects of climate change.
“Planting more trees would not only help humans but it will support the whole biodiversity. Planting trees makes the environment immediately more beautiful among other benefits,” she said.
