Third year Murang'a University student commits suicide

Murang'a University of Technology (MUT) comrades are mourning one of their own who died by suicide.

The third year student was persuing a degree in tourism management.

Samantha Nyawira's body was discovered on Tuesday morning, hanging in her rented house, near Total petrol station in Murang’a town.

MUT acting Dean of students Asige Chavumilu confirmed Nyawira's demise through a memo, to the students.

Her friends claim she recently broke up with her husband, which may have pushed her towards suicide.

The body is being preserved at the Murang'a level 5 hospital as burial arrangements continue.
