Two inmates at the Kisii Main Prison in Kisii Central Sub County are among the 34,088 candidates sitting for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in Kisii county.

The duo, Davis Nyang'au and Elijah Nyakundi, expressed optimism about passing the national exams despite the challenging environment they are currently in.

"We have prepared well and have nothing to fear. I am targeting to score a B+ in this examination because I have put in a lot of hard work," Nyang'au said.

Kisii Central Deputy County Commissioner, Wilberforce Kilonzo spearheaded the distribution of the examination materials at the Sub-County’s headquarters together with other education officials.

He urged the center managers to strictly adhere to the examination regulations.

This year’s examination will see a double collection of papers in that the morning papers will be released in the morning and the second batch for the afternoon session will be collected after the first session papers have been returned to collection centres.

The KCSE candidates have already completed the oral, technical, and practical subjects and the remaining examination papers will be completed by November 24, 2023.
