In a heartfelt appeal for peace and harmony, religious leaders from Uasin Gishu County have urged Kenyans to embrace tranquility, particularly during this festive season.

Their message comes amidst growing concerns over the potential for unrest and division in the country.

Reverend Joseph Samoei, speaking at a church session at the Reformed Church of East Africa in Eldoret, stressed the importance of peace for national prosperity and individual well-being.

"Peace will allow us to rejoice in life together," he emphasized, quoting biblical verses that underscore the value of peace.

Echoing Samoei's sentiments, Pastor Simon Muchiri echoed the call for peace, urging Kenyans to maintain tranquility not only in religious places but also in the workplace and homes.

"Peace is fundamental for progress," he asserted, adding that a peaceful environment enables smooth operations and enhanced productivity.

Addressing the wider political landscape, Muchiri urged leaders to refrain from divisive rhetoric and promote unity among Kenyans.

"Without peace, who will politicians lead?" he questioned, emphasizing the responsibility of political figures to foster national cohesion.

These calls for peace come in the wake of recent incidents that threaten the country's stability.

In Lamu County, a video surfaced that allegedly showed local leaders promoting violence against certain communities. This incident highlights the need for vigilance and united action to safeguard peace and harmony in Kenya.

Religious leaders across the country have a crucial role to play in promoting peace and interfaith dialogue.

Their voices of wisdom and compassion can help to steer the nation towards a more harmonious future.

As we approach the festive season, let us heed their call and strive to cultivate a spirit of peace and goodwill that transcends all divisions.
