In the diverse job market and with the existing scarcity of employment opportunities you may find yourself trying for any opportunity that may be advertised somewhere. Rejection emails are the worst thing to receive in such moments. Sometimes the kind of rejection you get from employers leaves you wondering what may have possibly gone wrong yet you met all requirements for the job.
There are a number of reasons why you may have not qualified for the job and here are some of the reasons that normally throw you far behind.
1. Unstable job history
Did you know that the time gaps in your employment history can raise red flags for employers? Leaving them questioning your whereabouts between the existing time frames. How can you solve this issue if and when it arises? Be in a position to explain your whereabouts when the question pops and convince them that you can be a long term person in their company.

2. You are not a good fit for the job
You try out every opportunity, especially during job hunting and eagerly wait for a reply that never comes. Al this time, you know very well that your skillset, work experience and personality are not specifically suited for the job you applied for.
Lowering your expectations in this scenarios and staying away from jobs that you fully don't qualify for saves you from the embarrassment of receiving more rejection emails
3. Poorly curated resume
How well do you sell yourself? Your CV should be able to express how you will use your acquired skillset to improve the company you are applying to.
A well-curated CV is systematically arranged and neatly done. Avoid too much colour and use of funny font styles. Remember a CV is not for you it's for the hiring manager and the company so make it neat for the person scheming through it.
4. You are overqualified
Sometimes employers do not go after overqualified candidates because they are afraid of paying what you may expect. Over qualification is good but sometimes it rules you out of opportunities that may have applied for. Remember, what is for you, will find you.
What do you think is the reason you never got the job you applied for?
5. You made careless mistakes
At this point in your life, it would be absolutely embarrassing to submit an application, or even just a resume, with any spelling, grammatical, or formatting errors. Or worse, using industry terminology incorrectly. Would you hire someone so careless? No. Proofread at least twice.
6. You lied
Do not falsely represent yourself or your experience. And do not plagiarize. You will get caught and the consequences will not be good. Better to be 100% truthful and accurate.
Have you committed any of these sins? Run through your materials to check and save yourself the potential (possibly inevitable) heartbreak
